Under 15’s lose to strong Lurgan side

Donacloney Under 15 hosted a strong Lurgan team in their opening league match (May 2010). Batting first, Donacloney amassed 119 for 4 in their allotted 20 overs. Scott Armstrong, opening the batting, scored an impressive 46 and was ably supported by Ryan Cobb (19) and Rory Woods who smashed 29 in the final overs.

Lurgan batted sensibly in their innings, always keeping up to the required rate. Good bowling from Rory Woods, Shane Warren and Alan Thompson kept the match finely balanced with Lurgan needing 7 to win off the last over. Two consecutive boundaries clinch the match for Lurgan. Despite the defeat, coach Johnny Stevenson was pleased with the performance and hopes to see further improvements during the season
